Where to sell clothes and textiles in London

5 businesses in and around London that buy used clothes from the public — what each takes, and whether you are offered a purchase, a consignment or a loan.

Verified 2026-09-24 from each organization's own website. We are not affiliated with anyone listed here, nobody pays to be included, and we receive nothing if you sell to them.

How to tell what you have got

Before you call anyone, two minutes with the object settles most of it. None of this needs an expert — it needs a flashlight and a look at the back.

  • Teen and young-adult mall brands from the last 12 to 18 monthsIt buys all seasons year-round, takes walk-ins with no appointment, and requires items freshly laundered and free of odours. Sizes are adult only and the ranges are set per store: the London page gives girls 0 to 30 and up to 6X and guys XS to 4X and 28 to 44 inch waist, while the chain's national sell-to-us page gives girls 0 to 6X and guys 28 to 3X. Check your own store's page rather than assuming. No kids or youth sizes anywhere.
  • Premium outerwear and technical kit in near-new conditionBring it in June, not in October. VSP publishes its calendar: "Spring-Summer intake begins in December and Fall-Winter intake begins in June." By the time the weather turns, a shop is already full of parkas and will decline yours whatever the label.
  • Unworn items with the original tags still onKeep them separate and still tagged. Do not launder them or remove the tags to make them look tidy.

Rarely worth anything

Not a rule, and not a reason to bin something without asking. These are the things people most often expect to be worth money and find are not.

  • Mid-market and fast-fashion labels, at a luxury consignor
  • Clothing with stains, balling, repairs or odours
  • Household linens in bulk: towels, sheets, duvet covers, curtains
  • Single socks, single shoes, rags and fabric scraps
  • Underwear and worn-out basics
  • The whole-house pile, taken as a pile
Second-hand textiles are exempt from federal fibre-content labelling if labelled as second-hand Federal (Textile Labelling and Advertising Regulations, C.R.C., c. 1551, s. 9, under the Textile Labelling Act)

Section 9: "A prescribed consumer textile article that is clearly identified by means of a label as a second-hand article is exempt from the application of section 3 of the Act." The regulations do not define "second-hand", and the exemption is conditional on the article carrying that label. Relevant if you are reselling a quantity of clothing as a business rather than giving it away.

5 places in London that take clothes

Daniel A Jewellery

Buys outright Bring it to them
BuysGold jewellery — 10K, 14K, 18K and higher, Gold coins and bars, Diamonds and fine gemstones, Quality branded jewellery and watches
Won't takeNot stated on their site
The dealAn outright buyer working from a jewellery shop rather than a scrap counter. Their gold-buying page says testing is done with you present — they 'explain the karat and purity, and show you how the offer is calculated,' and say they will tell you if an item is worth more than its melt value. They claim they are 'often able to offer more than a bulk gold buyer' because they can resell quality pieces rather than scrap them — that is their own marketing claim, not an independently verified figure, and no payout percentage is published. They state there is 'never any obligation to sell' after a free evaluation, and that photo ID is required for any sale.
Where467 Wharncliffe Road South, Unit 3, London, ON N6J 2M8
Their claim to beat bulk gold buyers is a statement on their own site, not a verified rate. If a piece may be worth more as jewellery than as metal — a signed designer item, a good stone, a vintage watch — melting it cannot be undone, so it is worth a second opinion first.

Game Cycle London Wharncliffe

Buys outright Bring it to them
BuysVideo games, Consoles, Gaming accessories, Movies
Won't takeNot stated on their site
The dealAn outright sale, with a choice of payment form — their site says 'Bring in your games, consoles, and movies for cash or store credit.' Cash and store credit are two different offers on the same item, so ask for both numbers before deciding. The site does not publish what it pays relative to resale value.
Where79 Wharncliffe Rd. S., London, ON
Store credit is only spendable in that shop. If you are clearing a house for money, ask specifically for the cash figure — the site does not state how the two offers compare.

Gardner Galleries

Consignment Bring it to them
BuysAuction-quality antiques, art and collectibles, Higher-value single pieces
Won't takeTotal consignments estimated under $2,000, Items already listed on Kijiji or Facebook Marketplace, Individual general household furnishings — dining sets, prints, glassware, porcelain
The dealAn auction house on consignment terms, stated plainly on their How To Sell page: 'The standard commission rate is 25%.' Higher-value consignments may qualify for a reduced rate; lower-quality consignments may face a higher rate or be refused. 'The current minimum consignment value is $2,000, with exceptions at our discretion.' 'Payment is issued by cheque within 30 days of the auction's conclusion and mailed to the consignor's address on file, unless alternative arrangements have been made such as e-transfer.' Send photographs first for a preliminary assessment. They note 'The standard rate for professional cartage in London is approximately $150/hour + HST' — your cost, not theirs.
Where407 Hamilton Road, London, ON
This is the wrong door for an ordinary house clear-out: they decline consignments under $2,000 and items already listed on Marketplace or Kijiji. You wait for the auction, then up to 30 more days for the cheque, and 25% comes off.

London Gold Buyer

Buys outright Bring it to them
BuysGold jewellery, multiple karats, Silver jewellery, Platinum, Gold and silver bullion — coins and bars, Collectable gold coins
Won't takeNot stated on their site
The dealOutright purchase only. They describe themselves as 'Professional buyers and sellers of gold and silver jewellery, coins and bullion' — there is no lending or pawnbroking offered, so nothing is pledged and nothing is redeemed. They display live spot market prices for gold, silver, platinum and palladium in USD and CAD. They do not publish the margin they take off spot, so ask for the offer as a dollar figure per gram at your item's karat and compare it against the spot price on the day. Appointment only: 'By appointment only. Please call 519-457-4653 or Book Online.'
Where475 Highbury Avenue, London, ON
A live spot ticker shows the metal price, not your price. The difference between the two is the business's margin and it is not published on their site. Weigh and photograph your items before you go, and ask for the per-gram figure in writing.

Yardigan's Estate Liquidation Services

Quote first May collect — ask
BuysWhole estate contents, Furniture, Collectibles, General household items with resale value, Storage unit contents
Won't takeNot stated on their site
The dealTheir services page describes an estate buyout: they are 'prepared to make a competitive cash offer for the estate in its entirety. One price and its all gone!' So this is one lump-sum purchase of everything rather than item-by-item pricing. They advertise a free assessment. They also run junk removal, downsizing and estate clean-out services alongside the buyout — their 'Junk Be Gone' service is framed as considering items with resale value instead of disposal fees. Make sure you know which service you are being quoted for and in which direction money is moving: a clean-out is a service you pay for, a buyout is money coming to you. Get the figure and the direction of payment in writing before anything leaves the house.
Where78 Firestone Blvd Unit 2, London, ON N5W 5L4
One price for everything means no itemised valuation, so anything genuinely valuable in the load is bought within the same lump sum.
We could not verify this city’s municipal rules for second-hand dealers and pawnbrokers from an official source, so we state none. Check with the City or the province before relying on anything you read about them elsewhere.
